Little Victories

An 8-year-old girl asks her mom to turn down the AC in the van, implying that she is getting too cold.

So what?

To most it is an unnoticeable, unremarkable event.

Most moms would, unthinking, reach and turn down the air.  Some moms might even be a little annoyed at the request.

This mom?  Well, this mom rejoiced and had a little party inside because her 8-year-old daughter — for the first time in her life — asked mom to turn down the AC today!

Do you understand?

You see, Chloe noticed and processed that she was cold (or maybe even just annoyed at the sound of the air blowing), thought through a solution to her problem, and communicated to me what she wanted.

Wow.

That’s awesome.

A not-so-small victory, actually!!!
